Following the success of Vitalik's "Zuzalu" pop-up city event the concept has gained traction, reaching more diverse destinations with organizers like Edge City, Shanhaiwoo, Invisible Garden among others.

We aren't quite near the maturity of web2 applications, but the variety of frameworks being built on are creating some very interesting user experiences already.
