Web3 Social Club is a Twitter Space series by Mask Network where Web3 projects and builders gather and exchange ideas on building cutting-edge social networks and infrastructures.
Dedicated to broader user education and industry discussion in the Web3 social space, we want the program to be a media public good. We hope to provide deep insights for crypto-enthusiasts as well as easy-to-digest information for Web3 newbies.
Starting from 5/8, 2022, we’ve successfully held 19 Spaces with founders and members from pioneer Web3 projects as speakers. Some of the influential projects we’ve invited include MetaMask, Lens Protocol, RSS3, Collab.Land, Gitcoin, Project Galaxy, Big Time, Ledger, and SlowMist.

Web3 Social Club #013 | Build Some Magic into Web3 Social: A Discussion Before #ETHDenver
Mask Network hosted the 13th edition of the Web3 Social Club Twitter Spaces, where speakers from Collab.Land, Chainbase, Firefly, Next.ID, GoPlus Security, Mirror World, Quest3, and KNN3 discussed the importance of Web3 social and how their projects contribute to its development.
They agreed that Web3 social is a more open and free system than Web2 social, allowing people to build new clients and get whatever metrics they want.
The speakers also discussed how Web3 social could monetize one's data and capture values that cannot be captured in Web2 apps. They attended the Web3 Social House event during ETH Denver, where they participated in various programming, including panel talks and workshops around Web3 social.
Web3 Social Club #012 | It's a Disco Party Ft. Next.ID: Why Build on DID?
On February 16th, 2023, Mask Network proudly hosted the 12th edition of the Web3 Social Club Twitter Spaces. This exciting event featured industry leaders and visionaries in the decentralized identity (DID) space.
Evin, the CEO of Disco.xyz, and Yisi, the core initiator of Next.ID, graced us with their presence, sharing their unique perspectives on the implementation and development of DID. This conversation delved deep into the challenges they've encountered in their work, as well as their opinions on data storage and user-centric identity management.
The importance of separating one's financial assets and social capital was also a key topic, as the speakers explored the myriad of use cases and benefits associated with a comprehensive Cyberspace identity solution.

Web3 Social Club #011 | Deep Dive into the Aftermath of FTX Debacle: How FixDAO Could Help Victims
On January 17th, 2023, Mask Network hosted the 11th of Web3 Social Club Twitter Space event. The recent affairs surrounding the #FTX saga have had a significant impact on individuals and communities. Recognizing the need for collective action to aid those affected, FixDAO is actively working to support and assist those impacted by the situation.
FixDAO is a non-profit decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) dedicated to advocating for the rights and interests of underrepresented communities affected by the FTX incident. In partnership with EthSign, 0xScope, and other leading figures in the Web3 space, FixDAO aims to serve as a unified voice in the ongoing efforts to address and mitigate the impact of the FTX debacle.
Audiences can learn about the various approaches and solutions being employed by FixDAO and its partners, including but not limited to credit claims, on-chain evidence, and legal agreement signing, supporting the victims.

Web3 Social Club #010 | Why decentralized identities matter?
Mask Network hosted the Web3 Social Club Vol. 10 Twitter Space on 22 December 2022. This is Twitter Space is more of a special occasion as it was a conversation conducted between our guest speakers: Scott Galloway (NYU professor, podcaster, and author) and Yisi Liu (initiator and core maintainer of Next.ID).
During the dialogue, the two speakers shared their views on the importance of decentralized identities with topics including the significance of decentralized identities, pros, and cons of centralized/decentralized identities, where the decentralization movement is headed next, plus thoughts on the trade-off between convenience and privacy.

Mask Network hosted the Web3 Social Club Vol. 9 Twitter Space on 08 December 2022 with guest speakers on the builder/digital identity track who are also the grantees of our first grant round.
In this episode, we covered what it means to be building public goods and why it’s a phenomenon in Web3, risk management practices projects are cautiously taking under the current market chaos, the differences and ethos among many DID (decentralized identities) solutions and credential services (VC and SBT).

Mask Network hosted the Web3 Social Club Vol. 8 Twitter Space on 21 September 2022 with some thriving grantees participating in the Gitcoin GR15 Web3 Social Ecosystem round to celebrate.
Coming from a rich background in Web3 social, project leaders and builders shared their insights on their takeaways joining this round, the opportunities and challenges they see during the build-out phase, their views on working together with open-source communities, and more. Ben West the round lead of Gitcoin gave some closing thoughts on the Twitter Space, along with major updates from the Gitcoin side.
